The New York Jets' Greatest Seasons

In his role with KFC, Anthony Courcy is tasked with the hiring and training of restaurant managers for all 15 locations in New York State. He also travels with new managers to their stores in order to ensure successful transitions. Away from work, Anthony Courcy enjoys supporting the New York Jets.

The New York Jets joined the National Football League (NFL) in 1970, following the NFL merger with the American Football League (AFL). Previously, the Jets enjoyed their finest season in 1968 as part of the AFL. That year the Jets won 11 of 14 regular-season games, including eight of their last nine, before defeating the Oakland Raiders to reach the penultimate Super Bowl prior to the merger. There the Jets faced the Baltimore Colts, favorites and winners of 13 regular-season contests. New York’s defense proved decisive, however, in a 16-7 victory.

The Jet’s best season since the NFL merger came in 1998. The team went 12-4 over the course of the season to win the AFC East division title. New York rode seven consecutive victories into the AFC Championship game against the Denver Broncos, but could not generate much offense in a 23-10 defeat.
